• 9.Ano Mera & Tourliani Monastery — The island's only real village, with a proper Greek square of tavernas and the ornate 16th-century Panagia Tourliani monastery, its baroque marble bell tower and carved screen. A calm, authentic hour away from the glitz.
• 12.Elia & Agrari beaches — The longest sandy beach on the island, on the calmer south-east coast — organised at one end, quieter at the other, with clear water and less of a scene than the party sands. A relaxed day in the sun.
• 15.Kalafatis watersports — The east-coast bay of Kalafatis is the island's watersports hub — reliable wind for windsurfing and kitesurfing, plus diving on the reefs offshore. A more active, laid-back beach day away from the party crowds.
