• 6.Snorkelling at Santa Maria — For the best underwater world in Los Cabos, head to the protected coves along the Corridor — Santa Maria and Chileno bays, horseshoe-shaped, calm and gin-clear, are marine sanctuaries with reefs of tropical fish, rays and the odd turtle just off the beach. Snorkel straight from the sand (bring or rent gear) in the sheltered turquoise water, or join a boat snorkel trip. Being the meeting of two seas, the marine life around Cabo is spectacularly rich. It's a beautiful, easy and family-friendly break from the party, on some of the area's prettiest swimmable beaches. Gorgeous and relaxed. Go early to beat the crowds and wind.

• 12.An ATV desert & beach adventure — For an adrenaline hit in Cabo's dramatic scenery, hit the trails on an ATV or dune buggy — tearing along empty Pacific beaches, through cactus-studded desert, over dunes and up to viewpoints, often ending at a hidden beach or the old Migriño lighthouse. Tours range from gentle scenic rides to full-throttle dune-bashing, and many combine the ATV with camel rides along the beach, ziplining or a tequila tasting. It's dusty, exhilarating fun and a great way to see the wild Baja landscape beyond the resorts. A thrilling, only-in-Baja adventure. Fun and scenic. Wear closed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dusty.
• 13.Chileno Bay swimmable beach — The pick of the Corridor's beaches — Chileno Bay, a beautiful, gently curving cove of soft golden sand and calm, clear turquoise water that's one of the few beaches in Los Cabos both safe for swimming and excellent for snorkelling, thanks to a protected reef just offshore. With shade, restrooms and easy access, it's a lovely, family-friendly spot to swim, snorkel among the fish and laze on the sand away from the downtown crowds. Come early — the small parking lot fills fast. A gorgeous, relaxed and safe beach highlight. Beautiful and calm. Bring snorkel gear and arrive early.
• 15.Cliffside sunset dining & margaritas — Cabo does the sunset-dinner spectacular like nowhere else — book a table at one of the dramatic clifftop or beachfront restaurants along the Corridor and downtown, where you sip a perfect margarita or a mezcal cocktail as the sun melts into the Pacific and the waves crash below. From the legendary open-air seafood terraces set into the cliffs to rooftop lounges over the marina, it's about the view, the drinks and the Baja seafood as much as the meal.
